Halo 3 Disc Error?

Whenever I try to load/play the mission "The Covenant", I get a Cannot Read Disc error and then I notice the xbox 360 is quiet, not making much of a sound, like it stopped playing the disc. Can someone shed some light on the issue? Thanks.

If the victim dies from some other cause, then at most there is attemped murder. In some places, not even that.
