Isn't It Grammatically Incorrect to say "You Lack Intelligence"?

A lot of people say it, and it doesn't make sense. How can you lack intelligence, intelligence isn't something a living person can go with out, so how the HELL can someone lack intelligence? Do they mean unintelligent, or lack of Intellect? People say that to me A Lot, and I want them to get it right.
