I'm a girl and i would like to join the marines :) (kinda a long question...)?

i'm 16 and i'm almost done with my jr year work (homeschooler). I'm a pretty smart person, (honors, ap, and magnet cles). My parents always said that if i chose to take the military path they would support me. Well, at first I threw a mental fit with myself saying, "geez the want me to die!!" Well, after much thought and planning I decided that I do in fact want to enlist. I will turn 17 in August. Although, I probably wont finish up my senior year work until sometime February 2012. See, since i'm homeschooled, recruiters just don't come barge in my huose during lunch time, not like in the local high school, and spill me the thoughts, benefits, disadvantages, requierements and so on for the Marines. So, I come to you fellow Yahoo-Answer-errs (??) what do I need? I know for a fact I will at one point need to talk to a recruiter, but could you get me the "deets" on how it all works out. Tests I will need to take, how much do I need to weight (err, i'm "petite" 5' 1" and 110 lbs.), also, If you use abbreviations (sp?) please define what they mean, i'm completely abbvreviationally challenged. Can I join right after I finish "high school" or do I have to go to College? The college my parents want me to attend is in London. Kingston University.
