I Need help on an argumentative essay against Welfare?

Perhaps the correlation between welfare and drug addiction is non existent or a very small percentage? Every one I've known who collected welfare spend all their benefits on rent, food, utilities, and other basic necessities. After spending every dime on such things there is nothing left for such things as drugs. In other words, it's one of those arguments that have no basis in fact.
